Students & Parents
Welcome
WHG is a family run organisation established over 25 years ago. WHG have created a portfolio of UK private and state school programmes for international students to experience the quality of British education. Good UK guardianship is key to every programme and service we offer - parents require a reliable, safe, affordable and professional Guardian, this is always guaranteed. The well-being of each student is paramount and our network of Local Guardians are dedicated to the ongoing safety and welfare of students.
Frequently Asked Questions
What options do WHG offer for international students?
As well as full-time study at boarding school, WHG has a range of academic programmes and experiences for students aged 7+ from one week to full academic years.
Why do I need a guardian?
As part of their application, visa nationals must nominate a responsible adult as their guardian if they are under 18 years old. Many parents will choose WHG to fulfil this duty. Most UK schools and Universities will insist that a guardian is appointed to act on their parent's behalf to ensure their well-being in the UK.
When will I need my guardian?
Our Local Guardians are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist students with anything upon request, from organising transport and homestay to emergency support. Parents and students should have the confidence to rely on their Local Guardian for anything they need.
Who are the Local Guardians?
All students will be under the care of a WHG Local Guardian (LG) while in the UK. Our LGs are carefully chosen and trained to level two safeguarding as a minimum standard. They are the student's educational guardian during their stay in the UK and are responsible for the student's welfare and safety, giving support where needed. The LG is responsible for managing the WHG host families in their area.

Where are the Local Guardians?
Most of our LGs live within one hour of the schools under their care.

Who are the Host Families?
WHG has a variety of host families to suit students at all stages of their study.
All our host families are recruited by WHG, not via an agency.
