Stour

My name is Kim Baker and I have been the Local Guardian for White House Guardianships for the Stour region since 2015 after working for over 30 years as a CAD/draughtswoman. I cover Bournemouth, Poole and Wimborne. I am married and have two sons and two grandchildren.

As a family we have hosted students for over 25 years from all over the world, we found it rewarding and educational. We believe that a student should experience English life to the full. No English family is the same.

We have a varied amount of hobbies and interests. As a family we like anything to do with cars, we have a racing car and also classic cars.

Glyn supports our local football team Bournemouth and goes to games regularly. Myself, I am a netball player and also an umpire.

We are a very close family and do many things together.

About the Area

We live in a beautiful part of the country with golden sandy beaches in Bournemouth and Sandbanks, the Jurassic coast line to one side and the lovely isles of Purbeck to the other.

We are close to Ringwood town, the New forest and easy access to Southampton, Poole, Portsmouth and Salisbury, also the main link to the south west.

Southampton and Portsmouth are renown for shopping and their harbours. A must go to when in the UK.

Bournemouth is twinned with Lucerne in Switzerland and Netanya in Israel.

Poole is twinned with Cherbourg-Octeville in France.

Wimborne is twinned with Oschsenfurt in Germany and Valognes in France.
