South Devon

 Secondary LG
My name is Ben Cowell. I am the local guardian for South Devon and I've been on an exciting journey with White House Guardianships since 2013. But, beyond the job, there's a lot about me that makes me who I am.

First and foremost, I'm all about family. Bonnie, my amazing wife, and our lovable pup, Louie, are the heart and soul of my life. They bring endless joy to every day.

In my free time, I'm a bit of an adventurer. I get a thrill from watching motorsport races, and whenever I can, I'm right there in the action, experiencing the speed and adrenaline for myself. Photography is another big part of my life; it's my way of capturing moments, preserving memories, and sharing the beauty I see in the world.

One of the most incredible parts of my life has been my adventures around the world. I've been fortunate enough to explore many countries, capturing the spirit of international F1 and other races through my lens. It's not just about the races; it's about the cultures, the people, and the amazing places I've encountered.

About the Area

About the area in which I live:
Brixham, is a coastal gem in South Devon, England, a charming town that captures the essence of seaside living. Nestled along the English Riviera, this place is a delightful blend of old-world charm and modern-day vibrancy.

The heart of Brixham is its picturesque harbour, where colourful fishing boats bob in the water, and fishermen still bring in the day's catch. The smell of the sea mixes with the aroma of fresh seafood being prepared at the town's restaurants, creating a unique and inviting atmosphere.

Strolling through Brixham's streets, you'll find cosy, centuries-old cottages and narrow, winding lanes that tell tales of a rich maritime history. The Golden Hind, a replica of Sir Francis Drake's famous ship, stands tall and proud, offering a glimpse into the town's seafaring past.

Brixham's community is warm and welcoming, with a strong sense of togetherness. The locals are friendly, always ready to share stories about the town's history or suggest the best places to visit.

Nature plays a significant role in Brixham's charm. The nearby Berry Head National Nature Reserve offers breath-taking views of the coast and is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Whether you're exploring the South West Coast Path or just enjoying the sea breeze, Brixham offers a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. It's a place where time seems to slow down, and the simple pleasures of coastal living come to life.

South Devon

South Devon, tucked away in the southwest of England, is a hidden treasure.

Imagine breath-taking coastlines with dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches, and hidden coves. Towns like Salcombe, Dartmouth, and Torquay offer opportunities for sailing, sun-soaked beach days, and coastal adventures.

Inland, Dartmoor National Park is amazing for nature lovers. With its rolling moors, ancient rock formations, and lush woodlands, it's an outdoor playground. The peaceful River Dart flows through picturesque valleys, providing opportunities for exploring.

Brixham, a charming coastal town, adds to South Devon's allure. Its picturesque harbour, maritime history, and seafood cuisine make it a must-visit. Wander the quaint streets, try fresh seafood, and soak in the maritime culture.

When it's time for shopping, the cities of Exeter and Plymouth come into their own. Exeter's bustling high street and historic charm make it a shopper's paradise. Plymouth offers a mix of modern shopping centres and a vibrant waterfront, where you can shop, dine, and enjoy the coastal views.

Whether you're seeking coastal adventures, a taste of history, a nature escape, or some retail therapy, South Devon, with its diverse towns and breath-taking landscapes, has something for everyone. It's a place to unwind, explore, and make unforgettable memories.
